5 tips to speed up your muscle recovery

If you're on a high-intensity exercise program, recovery and rest periods are a necessary part that you can't neglect because they keep you fit and healthy in general.

1- Include recovery weeks in your sports schedule

Before you start organizing your sports schedule, do not forget to plan for recovery periods and make them part of your sports regimen.

2- Drink enough water

Stay hydrated by drinking adequate amounts of water, as this speeds up the recovery process and promotes the desired results from exercise.

3- Get enough sleep

Getting the right amount of sleep will motivate you to exercise, adjust your mood, speed up the recovery process, and even improve the quality of your sleep. Therefore, avoid drinking caffeine, eating large meals, and exposure to devices that emit blue light at least two hours before you go to bed.

4- Eat meals rich in nutrients

While you're resting after a workout, your muscles will need the right nutrition to recover. Your meal must include protein sources in order to rebuild muscle tissue, and the recommended amount of protein ranges between 1.0 - 1.6 grams per kilogram of your weight per day.

5 - Make sure to massage your muscles

Massage reduces muscle stiffness, promotes blood circulation, and helps muscles relax.
